5 Great Halal Restaurants You Should Try In Yokohama!
There is a growing number of excellent halal restaurant in Yokohama. From South East Asian cuisine to Arabic cuisine, to Japanese seafood, here are some of the best addresses in Yokohama for halal cuisine.

Malay Asian Cuisine
This halal restaurant first opened in Tokyo and has been growing in popularity ever since. It now has a branch in Yokohama where you can enjoy some 50 different dishes of Malaysian cuisine. Many of the authentic dishes are made with shrimps and chicken and have a deeply satisfying savoury flavour. Malaysian cuisine is also characterized by the use of coconut milk and spicy seasoning.
This Indian restaurant serves alcohol and even has some all-you-can-drink options but the meat is certified halal so you can enjoy some awesome curry, which is their specialty along with the charcoal grilled tandoori chicken. The nan bread is also homemade and is irresistibly good. The have some vegetarian options, and, best of all, they have an all-you-can-eat buffet during the lunchtime for just ¥1,000 (¥1,250 on weekends)!
Arabian Restaurant Al Ain アラビア料理 アルアイン
This Arabic restaurant's chef is the former chef of the embassy of Kuwait to Japan. He serves some authentic Arabian cuisine that is mildly spiced. Expect to pay about ¥5,000 per person here. Aside from the food the atmosphere is warm and inviting. You can even enjoy some belly dance performances on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Located a 10-minute walk from the Kannai Station.
AMATARO 甘太郎 みなとみらい店
This is a traditional style Japanese izakaya where you can enjoy all kinds of fish and meat dishes and small entres. They have English, Korean and Chinese menus available. The place is not entirely halal but they offer many religious menu options so just inquire to make sure what they have that is specifically halal. They also have vegetarian and all-you-can-eat options. The prices here are very reasonable at around ¥800 for lunch and ¥3,000 for dinner.
Hokkaido 北の味紀行と地酒 北海道
This is a seafood izakaya from Hokkaido so you have plenty of menu options that are Muslim friendly (religious and vegetarian menus are available in English, Chinese and Korean). Hokkaido is famous for its fresh seafood and the Hokkaido crabs are particularly worth the detour! Expect to pay less than ¥1,000 for lunch and around ¥3,000 for dinner.
