Mankamero is a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant of very long-standing in Kyoto. Having first opened as a sake brewery in 1722 under a different name, the establishment converted into a tea house that serves food a few years later with the name Mankamero and has retained this vocation to this day. The restaurant is currently operated by its 10th generation of successors, truly devoted to the preservation of their traditional cuisine with a philosophy of "steadiness, wisdom, humility" as stated by chef Takehiro Konishi.
You will feel that sense of history when you dine at Mankamero. The beautiful traditional Japanese interior is the perfect setting to enjoy the refined Kyoto cuisine that it offers.

Yushoku ryori

There are four types of traditional Kyoto cuisine, and the one served here is the rarest and arguably the most refined. It's called 'Yusoku Ryori' (court food) and was literally the food eaten by the Emperor and the aristocracy.

The cuisine features a variety of seasonal vegetables and seafood presented in a succession of courses that are as amazingly beautiful as they are tasty.

Vegetarian/vegan options are also available.

Courses are ¥10,000 and over.
